Iron Sharpens Iron
“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
Each day this week I have been deeply encouraged by the honest words of other individuals who have chosen to share their process of faith and the treasure that it produced in their character. Each person described a similar process that compared to the words of 2 Corinthians 4:8 “afflicted in every way, but not driven to despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; “One person described being left completely alone and learning what it means to “strengthen yourself in the Lord.”
Faith Evolving
Another gave a narrative of a faith walk that is still evolving. This story is a modern-day comparison of Peter getting out of the boat and walking on the water towards Jesus. This is extreme faith that can only be achieved by keeping your eyes completely on the lord and not wavering. Hebrews 11 is full of examples of such great faith and this was no exception! It is these kinds of testimonies that carry an ability to propel and encourage others forward in their faith. It is the recipe for overcoming as spoken of in Revelation 12:11 “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

Obstacles
This week as I faced my own obstacles, or “mountain to climb” I pulled on the gift that was given through the word of another’s perseverance. The word of the testimony has now become a force that propels me forward.
Our Victory
Thank you to the ones that have overcome, and to the ones that have shared from the heart their journey! Your testimony has become our victory. Iron sharpens iron. We are stronger together! Keep pressing on.
